Before design work began for this exhibit, Kelton and Eclectic Group, conducted a series of visitor studies workshops on game day. We observed visitor behavior in the exhibit gallery and asked visitors what they wanted to see in a new exhibit. “More Crimson” “I want to see the plays, not just look at the stuff.”  With that in mind, we made sure there was plenty of Crimson. There are also three monitors in each artifact case showing the plays that make the artifacts significant. The artifact cases are also designed with traffic flow in mind. In one view you can see the entire timeline of Alabama football history, but as you move into the exhibit, your attention is focused on each coach’s era.

Follow on work by Kelton Design has included evaluating the functionality of the guest services at the museum and designing a new guest services desk.
